On the 9th August, Leon, who is almost 3 years old, will be embarking on a 10 mile walk, of course with the help of his mummy Hayley and his ability dog and best friend "Fern".
Leon or "Mancub" as he is affectionately known, suffers from Chiari Malformation and suffered with headaches for the first two years of his life. In September 2018 Leon had neuro surgery at Southampton hospital and although there is no cure for Chiari, the surgery has made a massive improvement with his headaches.
"Whilst in hospital he loved using the sensory room, the staff were all amazing with him and very attentive of his sensory needs.
The surgery has given Mancub a new lease of life and together with his support dog Fern the duo like to live life to the full! They love nothing more than being out running free so we decided to raise some smiles for other children attending the neuro unit by doing our bit to help with the fundraising for smile4wessex"
Hayley will be walking with her two friends Megan and Louise, and of course Leon and Fern on a 10 mile loop of Stockbridge through to Danebury Hill in Hampshire.
