A team of six from HMS Collingwood recently undertook the Tough Mudder, a 12-mile obstacle course designed by ex-special forces personnel, in aid of the Smile4Wessex Appeal. The course included some fearsome obstacles, such as cargo nets, high wires, icey water, mud tunnels, a 12-foot wall, a fire walk and (as if all that wasn't enough) a field of electric wires delivering shocks of up to 10,000 volts to those brave enough to enter it.
It's a fearsome challenge that many fail to complete, but we're delighted to report that the 'Expendables' made it all the way around, raising almost £2,000 for Smile4Wessex in the process. Representing the team, Lt Tim Lawrenson and Lt Ben Lipczynski visited the Wessex Neurological Centre to hand over a cheque for £1,932.51 to Caroline Hill who is pictured here with Tim, Ben and with Andy and Lee, the Smile4Rich Ambulance crew.
