Taylor Wimpey plan to raise big Smiles for new charity partner

Staff at Taylor Wimpey Southern Counties are all smiles following a vote to choose its 2016 Charity of the Year. Selected from a shortlist of employee nominations, Smile4Wessex is dedicated to enhancing the range and quality of care and treatment provided at the Wessex Neurological Centre. The centre serves over 3 million people in a region that closely mimics the area covered by the regional business of what is one of the UK’s largest national home builders.

Co-ordinating the relationship for Taylor Wimpey will be Southern Counties’ sales manager, Sally Prince, who also organised the staff ballot. “We’re excited to be working with Smile4Wessex and looking forward to helping a charity that does so much for those across our community who have the misfortune to require specialist neurological care,” Sally said.

Information will be displayed in the sales offices at each of the Taylor Wimpey’s numerous developments in Hampshire, Dorset, West Sussex and south-east Wiltshire, boosting awareness for the charity, and Taylor Wimpey will be donating £100 for each new home reserved during launch events throughout the year. The first of these launches took place at Taylor Wimpey’s Alver Village development in Gosport to get fundraising off to a successful start towards the charity’s latest appeal, which aims to raise £100,000 to provide state-or-the-art 3D endoscopic neurosurgery equipment.

Commenting on the news that Smile4Wessex had been chosen, Smile4Wessex Appeals Director, Neil Westbrook said, “It’s a tremendous fillip to be chosen as the charity partner of such a prestigious and well-respected business. I’m sure it will do much to raise the public profile of Smile4Wessex and the Wessex Neurological Centre, and the fact that Taylor Wimpey is generously pledging £100 for each reservation at their launch events this year is obviously fantastic news too!”

Sally and Neil will also be encouraging Taylor Wimpey staff to participate in some of the charity’s varied fundraising events and challenges, many of which provide ideal team-building opportunities.
