In June 2021, Ben Edgell suffered a traumatic brain injury. A CT scan at the time showed a left extradural haemorrhage with midline shift and temporal fracture and he underwent a left craniotomy and evacuation of an extradural haematoma.
Ben was treated at The Royal Bournemouth Accident and Emergency Department, and then paramedics transferred to him to Southampton, where he says the incredible team at the Wessex Neurological centre saved his life that weekend, and he will be forever grateful to them all.
To give something back to the unit, Ben and his partner Hannah will be running the Reading Half Marathon on Sunday 2nd April 2023.
