The Brook is one of Southampton's premier live music venues, and on Thursday 24th April it will be hosting a special '999 LIVE' Party Night to raise funds both for Smile4Wessex and the Countess Mountbatten Hospice.
Organised by and (primarily) for members of the emergency services, the event will feature three bands - Hattie Jacques' Playlist, Soul Baby and The Midlife Crisis - and a Hog Roast will also be available on the night.
Organiser and Hampshire Police Inspector, Mark Barker, explains why Smile4Wessex was chosen as one of the charities to benefit from this event. "One of our colleagues suffered a brain tumour before Christmas and he continues to have ongoing care and support from the Wessex Neuro Centre. This is our way of saying thank you."
Though the event is expected to be heavily supported by colleagues from the police and other emergency services, it is open to all and tickets (priced at £10 in advance or £15 on the door) can be purchased direct from the venue @ www.the-brook.com
