| Ryder Cup-Style Golf Day | ||
| Event Location | Cams Hall Golf Club, Fareham | |
| Event Description | Since changing to a Ryder Cup-style format in 2007, our annual charity golf day has been hugely popular. Now, for 2010, we’ve relocated to a superb new venue, the 5,761 yard (off the Yellow Tees) Peter Aliss designed Creek Course at Cams Hall Golf Club. In each the last three years, the Red Team (captained by Saints’ legend Matt Le Tissier) has suffered narrow defeats by the Blue Team (twice under Guy Whittingham’s captaincy, and once when led by Steve Claridge). But for 2010 we shall have new captains, with Spurs, Liverpool and Pompey legend Paul Walsh taking over captaincy of the Blues, and with Saints legend Franny Benali skippering the Red team. Based on Ryder Cup golf, but played over 27 holes in a single day (comprising 9 holes of 4-balls and 18 holes of singles), every player’s contribution to the overall result is equally important and the event has produced some incredibly close finishes - even requiring a sudden death play-off two years ago! And aside from the honour for the winning team of lifting the ‘Smile4Rich Trophy’ sponsored by Pinnacle Property Consultants, there will again be medals for every participant, plus trophies and some great prizes - including a brand new car! - up for grabs in our various on-course competitions. We think you’ll find this format really enjoyable, and at a cost of just £52.50 each (including coffee & bacon roll on arrival and a ‘Brunch’ lunch after the first 9 holes) we believe it represents terrific value too. This format has been hugely popular with those who’ve played in previous years and, with a maximum of 34 pairings available, places for the event are sure to be in great demand - so please return your entry form as soon as possible to avoid disappointment!
