| Event Description | Andy and Pete are undertaking a mammoth 650 mile cycle ride from Poole, England to Besancon, France in July. Andy says in his own words how this idea has turned into reality, on the launch of their 'Tour de Parkeon' website: 'It's Wednesday, 1 February 2012, 18:00:00 GMT and as promised, here's what you've all been waiting for! As most of you will know, I was diagnosed with a brain tumour in early 2010 and although this was a massive blow, the Wessex Neurological Centre at Southampton Hospital really helped me, including brain surgery to remove the tumour. I've been wanting to do something to give something back and to help them treat others ever since and came up with the idea of a charity cycle ride across the south of England, over to France and down to Besançon, near the Swiss border. Pete Light kept pestering me to take it from an idea to reality and has spent many hours on the website and planning (may explain the grey hair :p). We would like to ask you two things: 1. Please donate generously! 2. Share the Tour de Parkeon group and ask as many people to spread the word as possible! Rest assured training is well under way and although we're both excited and nervous, we'll take it all very seriously. It will no doubt be the most challenging and exciting two weeks of our lives, but very very worth it!
