Our Trustees
The Board of Trustees are in effect the guardians of the charity, and are responsible to the Charity Commission for ensuring that the charity meets its legal obligations and stated objects.
The current board was elected in January 2009 and comprises Lea Brocklebank, a Partner of Southampton legal firm, Bond Pearce, who has been elected Acting Chair of Trustees; Lars Sundstrom, professor of neurosciences and director of tranlational research at Bristol University; Owen Sparrow, a Senior Consultant Neurosurgeon at the WNC; and Adrian Price, a Partner at the Solent offices of accountancy practitioners, Menzies. Biographies of our trustees can be found on the following page.
The previous board of trustees, who held their positions from 1984 to 2009, were David d'Arcy-Hughes, Glenn Neil-Dwyer and Duncan Lofts. Under their stewardship, the WNCT supported numerous projects, particularly in relation to research into neurological disorders and treatments.
We wish to put on record our sincere thanks to David, Glenn and Duncan for their considerable contribution to the work of the WNCT over so many years, and to wish them all the best for the future.
